AVRO Energy
Looking at changing from OVO to AVRO. I've had no problems with OVO but their renewal prices are so high!
AVRO energy prices look good (although I will lose my Smart meter facility) but I wondered if any of you would be happy to share your experience of AVRO before I finally decide.
Thank you

Avro increased prices on the 1st Jan so make sure when you compare you have their latest prices.
I`ve just switched from them because of the increases but found them ok up til then.0 -
Thanks "2010".
Can I ask who you have switched to?

I was on Avro`s simple and save duel fuel tariff which was variable.
Since Avro`s the price increase I`ve switched to Scottish Power duel fuel fixed `til June 2018.
Worked out about £40 cheaper than staying with Avro, plus £30 cashback from MSE cheap energy club for switching.0 -
I've just changed over from Ovo Better Energy Online to First Utility fixed until May 2018, actually did a full comparison of charges based on new Ovo Better Energy Fix and Avro charges, Avro was an actual £120 a year cheaper than Ovo Better Energy Online with standing charges, gas and electricity costs all being higher - having then run the Ruler over First Utility offer came out £50-60 better off with actual prices on FU 15 month fixed contract, enhanced by a £100 CashBack offer from TopCashBack, so approx. £10 a month better off per month with First Utility, making a contract saving of £150-160 over course of contract. Without CashBack offer Avro certainly more cheaper and that was with new charges as of 1st January when compared to Ovo Better Energy - all comparison sites were showing a £200 saving with Avro and £80-100 saving with First Utility. In FU's favour, their own comparison charges were correct and upfront saving indicated £77 over increased Ovo prices - again, Ovo seem to lose out on standing charges. Went with First Utility and Cashback has tracked at £100, so a good deal over all in my opinion, but feedback on FU services causes concern - also signing folks up as 'Priority Customers' due to age and medical needs.0

I was with FU for a year and never had any problems despite the horrific things I had read about their customer service on these boards.0

I switched from Npower to Avro last September 2016 on a fixed rate although they started taking money out of my bank account before the switch took place. There was an objection by Npower which was later lifted and I received my Welcome Pack and account number etc from Avro. Payments continued until January when I happen to call them to ask for a statement as I hadn't received one yet. Avro say that, actually, after all this time of them taking money out of my account that I don't have an account with them. I argue the toss and prove that payments have been taken from my account. They claim that the objection was never lifted and that they're refunding me all the money I've paid?? My account has reverted back to Npower and I am being asked to pay a massive bill when I was expecting a bill from Avro to be less than half the cost of Npower!!! What a nightmare!! Avro have kept my money for more than 5 months - no refund as yet tho'. If this has happened to me it could easily happen to you so potential Avro customers BE WARNED0

Seems like Npower are more to blame than Avro.
I`ve just switched from Avro but wouldn`t hesitate to go back if they were the cheapest.0 -
