I assume if it was all in new plastic fivers, it will not be musty?
I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

It will need to be declared for probate and IHT purposes, and will need to be documented in the estate accounts which need to be given to any residual beneficiaries.

If the estate is in IHT territory, or this find pushes it over the limit then obviously tax will need to be paid against it, but if not the only other concern would be if the deceased person had been claiming any means tested benefit without declaring this asset, in which case some claw back may be demanded by the DWP.
