AA sale - Business Class from LHR

we were planning on flying to ORD from DUB and back to LHR in business class in July as the economy fares from London airports were just nuts as were the business class fares.
Received the AA sale email today and dove in - was a bit disappointed that prices from DUB were pretty similar to the pre-sale prices.
Then my hubby called and said he got the email and looked at LHR to ORD return...they were cheaper than DUB->ORD->LHR (and cut out the flight to Dublin and overnight stay the night before our flight)...so we booked.
Even a DUB->ORD return is slightly more expensive than the LHR->ORD return in business.
Not sure if this is normal, but we're pleased with it.
It looks like, for our dates, LHR->ORD return is £999 in economy and £1432 in business...that seems a remarkable business class fare to me?

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

really? for direct business class in July from London? I guess we need to look around more often as it's not that much more than we normally pay for PE on Virgin in June booked during a sale.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

I only generally fly business for work, either LHR to SFO or SEA. Fares are usually £3k-5k for direct flights on either of those routes, so I'd say £1,500 to Chicago (that's ORD, right?) is a steal.
I spent £900 flying LHR-SFO in economy last year (fixed dates, short notice booking), so it compares well to that too!0 -
I do wish they'd introduce a decent ex-DUB sale this year.0
