Viewing houses to buy with agency that is also your letting agen

Options
Hi we're first time buyer who are currently renting and are gearing up to seeing what is out there and potentially putting in an offer on the right place.

The LL we rent from uses an EA as a letting agent and this EA also sells properties. A couple of the houses we may be interested in, are with the EA that is also our letting agent.

Normally when I phone up to ask to view somewhere the EA asks questions such as: where are you currently living (requires address), and are you renting etc. My question is, should we avoid properties through this EA so we don't let on to the LL before we're ready to hand our notice in, or am I overthinking this and actually they won't care that we're looking to buy whilst in a tenancy with them?

Thanks in advance
PP

You're overthinking. You also don't have to give the EA all the information they ask for. I get that knowing if you currently rent means that you're unlikely to be in a chain but do they really need to know where you live?

Given buying can take a long time I doubt the LL would be worried should he or she find out you are looking to buy

    They will love you!

If you buy a property via them, not only will they get commission for selling the property, but they'll alo be able to charge your landlord new fees for finding him a new tenant..........

Nobody cares if you're going to buy a house... the agent won't care, they won't be calling the landlord gossiping about it or anything. You're definitely overthinking.

Our current house was bought via the agency we were renting with.
