Waiting for offer to be accepted on a part exchanged home from developer

So basically me and my husband are now in a position to buy our own home. We are first time buyers and have found a house just down the road from where we currently rent!
We went to view the property the other day and we liked it, it is up for £214950 but needs a bit of work doing. So after a bit of digging I found out that the current "owners" using that term loosely, have part exchanged their home for a new build so the developers are managing the sale of this home for them. The developers have estimated that their new property should be ready Mar/Apr.
We put in an initial offer on the property of 200k on Monday and this was rejected, so we went in at 205k the following day, which was also rejected. As far as I am aware there is no other interest and taking in consideration the work that needs doing we decided to stick to our guns and say this is our final offer and that we are looking at other property's, the EA said she would speak to the developer again and see what she could do and that was Tuesday. I feel I should not really contact the EA too soon but I am going crazy, have not slept since! Here's me thinking it would be an exciting time ha!
Am I in a good position?
Should I offer more?
Should I contact the EA?
All advice greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
