She also said that they where getting about 2 per day at the moment coming back to store with the 'fines' letters from PE. I wonder how many pay up without even contesting. Money making racket.0

I had a read of the newbies FAQ (thanks Quentin) and I bit the bullet as per Pappa Golf's advice here (first job would be to go back to Aldi , copy your receipt , and copy the letter from PE , write your name and email on the PE ticket and confront the manager) . So I have a an update!
The Aldi Manager was super nice, very aware of the car park situation, apologised that they know how bad the car park is & can be at Christmas time. Took the copies off me and promised me this would all be cleared up and cancelled and told me not to worry. I informed her that my email address was printed on the top and that I'd like an email for clarification and some kind of audit trail should PE come knocking on my door (sotospeak) further down the line. I was told to leave it with her.
So all in all a fine result. Thank you for all your helpful advice. Hopefully this was the first and final time I ever have dealings with them! Happy New Year x
Well done, everyone can do this.
Make certain you get that confirmation email
Aldi made a huge error in taking on Parking Eye, it will have cost them dearly.
How much ???? Aldi will never know due to the amazing Brits doing a vanashing act.

Why not contact your local newspaper. They'd love a story like this just after Christmas. It would also give you the opportunity (via an article) to give fellow Christmas shoppers the heads up that these tickets will be cancelled by the local manager.
Well done local manager, p1ss poor Aldi for allowing PE to harass people when you should have informed them of the parking, shopping and exiting difficulties. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

With all due respect, there's no way I'm having my ugly mug plastered all over the front page of the local rag.
What I will do though, is post on the 'local town' boards on FB and my own page and ask other local friends to share.

It's also helpful for the effect if you're able to leave your teeth at home in a jar until you get back! :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You'd be OK. All you need to do is pose with a downturned mouth and a glum look.

And if it got into the Daily Mail you get points scores from weird 'commenters' for the 'sad face' and people will (of course, a Daily Fail requirement) want to read how much your house is worth!
