No I haven't. Thanks for the reminder. I'm doing things cautiously and ruling out all the less risky procedures, as I perceive them first.

Now looked for Malwarebytes in the Apple App Store, nothing.

Alternatives require IOS 9 and above and no idea if they can be trusted or if they do anything good.

    Think that's a non starter.

I think maybe you need to take it to a better computer shop, it appears on closer examination that although Malwarebytes make a version for Mac there doesn't seem to be one for iOS.

I was curious about this so had a bit of a google and it sounds like it is a legitimate advertising tracker network that is being called by one of the apps you have installed, perhaps a game? And because your IOS is so out of date it doesn't have the latest certifcates in Safari to accept the tracker's URL as legit. Maybe try uninstalling some of the apps one by one and clearing the safari data/history each time.

Is the reason you can't upgrade the IOS due to the iPad being too old?

Bluekai is a legit ad tracker like an STD is a legitimate disease, no one asks for it or wants it and tries to avoid it.

No games installed, the crucial thing I think is that yesterday it only affected my Lloyds banking group sites none of which are Apps so I think its that the banks server no longer offers the security I need due to old IOS.

I could upgrade the iPad at least to about 10.3 after which I believe it would grind to a halt being completely overloaded with an IOS suited to new models which of course I would then have to consider buying plus it would no longer sync with my vintage mac. I know its a crime to hang on to old tech and BBC iPlayer no longer supports IOS6 hence my thoughts about using cheap Kindle;)

Lloyds actually list this as one of the cookies they use:

    https://www.lloydsbank.com/cookies.asp#tab-row-2

Search that website for 'Oracle BlueKai' and it shows you all about it but here is what it says:
Oracle BlueKai collects anonymised data, through the use of cookies and similar technologies, about a user’s web usage. This data is used to build an anonymous profile of their behaviour online and what they are interested in. We use this information to learn more about our user’s interests to enable better and more relevant marketing for our users.

Any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Oracle BlueKai’s privacy policy. No personally identifiable data is collected or stored. This is a third-party cookie.

To learn more about this cookie please visit Oracle BlueKai's privacy policy or to opt out please visit the Oracle BlueKai registry.

I imagine if you upgrade to the latest IOS it will no longer be a problem.

I don't get ANY ads as far as I know. Opening safarinisOK on every site except Gumtree/eBay (same company) and Lloyds Banking Group. A pop up constantly comes up very click asking if I want to proceed as the SERVER stagsbluekai is not TRUSTED. As it comes up EVERY click it is a pain. Therefore its as if the SERVER is stagsbluekai possibly hijacking the usual server. I guess it may be a corruption of how its supposed to work as it is a real company based in California but there are lots of people who get this problem and react as if it is a virus/adware/spammer because in the cercumstances I outline it completely ruins my user experience.
