Private eye parking ticket

Hi , I recently had a hospital appointment at St davids hospital in Cardiff, the car park is covered by private eye, I parked in the patient and visitors section which was fine but I now have a £70 parking fine as they say I was suppose to give my car registration number to the man at reception , as I walked in I even said good morning to the man but I didn't know that I had to report no registration number, I'm sure a few months ago Martin lewis was on a program saying that you don't have to pay these fines is that true. Hope someone can enlighten me.

You need to read up the newbies faq thread on what to do now.
That advice to ignore is years out of date.
Apart from appealing you should get a complaint into the hospital and request them to get the charge cancelled (Google PALS to learn more about who to complain to)0 -
I have spoken to the hospital but they say that it's nothing to do with them , private eye have only taken over since 12th Dec 2016 but the hospital say that there have been signs up for a month previous.0

Escalate the complaint at the hospital.
(Did you contact PALS?)
(Not Private Eye, BTW - that's quite funny. The people you are dealing with aren't!)0 -

Hang on, the NHS Trust have signed a NEW contract in 2016 with ParkingEye?
In Wales?!St davids hospital in Cardiff - I parked in the patient and visitors section
My goodness you need to raise this with your MP and the DCLG (Marcus Jones) because since 2013, the Government has made it clear that parking regimes like this have no place in NHS Car Parks and also, Wales doesn't allow parking charges in Hospitals.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am also furious about this! I went to the hospital on the 3rd January with my son. I even looked about as wondered if it was pay and display but didn't see anything. At the children's centre we weren't notified of having to register the car etc. I don't intend to just pay this. I will be paying the hospital another visit to see how visible these signs are telling you to register car details. The fact is we had an appointment that I can prove, so cannot see what we have breached. We were visiting the hospital and were in the visitors car park - other than it not being clear you had to do some ridiculous ritual of having to register my car registration with someone/some machine, I cannot see what we have done wrong. I didn't park there and go off shopping to town. Unbelievable!!:mad:0

complain to PALS and also complain to your local MP as well , plus appeal it on the PE website using the BPA template from the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of this forum , appealing as KEEPER (NO INFERRING WHO WAS DRIVING)0
