I would like to take my OH on a weekend break to see the northern lights. Has anyone been at this time of year? Is Finland the best place? Any thoughts would be welcomed.

January in Iceland is best. Stay at the Clinic (www.bluelagoon.com) includes free entry to lagoon and their own (which is very good) and because its in the sticks (or rocks) there is little light pollution, our room windo was floor to ceiling, faced the sky and the show was wonderful.
we stayed in reykjavik and didnt see the lights until we drove out to grindavik (nr the lagoon)0
