EHIC card

Hi
I've just been charged £34.50 for an EHIC card.
I ordered it on 1st Jan 2017
When I found out I could apply and get one for free via the NHS website, I emailed the company to cancel on 3rd January.
They replied saying that they had started processing my application but I could have £24.50 refund as the remaining £10 was admin fee for work already started.
Can I get it all back ?
Appreciate any advice 😊

Have a good read of the Sticky and MSE article for this. Plenty of advice in them

I don't know, but why did you not do any basic research before parting with £34.50 for something that has always been free?

Did you not notice the disclaimer on the home page that said it was a 3rd party data processor for EHIC applications?
And that it would cost £34.50?
And that they are not affiliated with NHS?

I suggest you do a search on here under 'EHIC' and see if you can get the remaining £10 back but under the circumstances, I'd snatch the £24.50 and be extra careful next time - there are loads of similar websites for all sorts of things you may need to apply for.
  • Ehicdirect site looks nothing like the NHS site. It does provide a clear link to the official NHS site though.
