Booking a holiday with an overseas agency

We have booked and paid for a safari in February with a South African travel agent.
We have organised our own plane travel, car hire and accommodation for the two weeks prior to the safari.
The payment was made by credit card in early December and since then we have heard nothing from the company. I was told that a 'voucher' would be emailed to me in January but I have explained that we will be leaving the UK well before the safari date, driving the Garden Route and nowhere near a printer.
I am a bit worried about the lack of response. It could be that the agency is closed for the Xmas/New Year but you would expect an answerphone message or 'out of office' email response at the very least.
Does anyone know what happens when you have paid by credit card but the supplier is overseas i e are we still covered by the usual protections?

The Consumer Credit Act, section 75 protects you whether the supplier is here in the UK or abroad. Did the travel company have any affiliations such as ASATA, (their equivalent to ABTA) or ATTA which is the African Travel and Tourism Association? If so it might be worth sending an email to them to see if they are aware of any issues.
Frankly I would have expected confirmation almost immediately, it might well be the case that the actual travel vouchers are issued nearer the date of travel but a confirmation should be issued at the time of payment.0 -
The voucher was emailed to me this morning, so my worries are over.
It is also reassuring to know - and for other posters to know - that the Consumer Credit Act covers you when paying by a U.K. credit card even if the supplier is abroad.0 -
Had you departed before the email arrived I think you'd have found that there are printers in South Africa anyway.0

I have been on driving trips before, and believe me it is difficult to find a printer 'just like that'.
We always have everything printed out, with copies of important documents etc, well before the set-off date.0
