Car Insurance for a European Car!

I am planning to travel around Europe with my Greek friend in his Greek car, I am just wondering as to where is best to look for insurance for something like this or will I even be covered in the first place. I am not currently driving in the UK so don't currently have car insurance. The rules in Greece are different to the UK I believe as if the car is insured its insured for anyone to drive however me and my friend aren't sure as to how this would work with me.
