Parking Eye

We have a parking fine from Parking Eye saying we were parking ilegally at a blue badge holders car park. Our Blue Badge was on display. My husband has emailed them saying that the Blue Badge was on display whilst we were there. They have not replied to our email or acknowledged that they have received an email from us, This morning another letter saying if we dont pay it will be passed on to debt collectors or take us to court. My husband went on a forum which stated Parking Eye could not legally inforce the parking fine. Do any of you know of this company and should we pay it? Thank you

Did he email? Why? That's not how to appeal. There is an appeals page provided, easily Googled and mentioned on the PCN. He should have sent a template appeal on their 'contact/appeal' page, not an email. Did he do that?

What about complaining to the landowner - hospital or where? They cancel these all the time.

Where is there such a a thing as a 'Blue Badge Holders car park'?

Tell that to the 30,000 people per year who got court claims from ParkingEye, and to Barry Beavis who lost against PE at the Supreme Court in 2015! Forget that useless forum!

You need to read the 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' sticky thread you might have overlooked when you hit 'new thread'. You really do need to read it first because the advice is all there and a template appeal, plus a link to show how successful landowner complaints are.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Before doing anything else, you need to inform yourself properly about your situation and the range of options for seeing PE-off

The forum your husband read is some years out of date.

The Newbies Sticky at the top of this forum gives all the current info needed to successfully fight this.

also, these are not "fines" , they are speculative INVOICES

no private company can "fine" you , me or anybody else, but they can issue an invoice

many people have lost in court over the last few years so the advice he found was useless (or old hat - possibly before 2012 ?)

you need to read the NEWBIES sticky thread, and also read the blue booklet , where it tells you that different rules apply on private land

The EA2010 may well apply here , but not the BB

PE rarely use wardens for their monitored car parks , they use ANPR cameras on the IN and OUT lanes at the entrance/exit , to monitor time on site

and yes , we do know about PARKING EYE , they are one of the biggest private parking companies in the UK

    see this recent blog
