Shares in Costain will be rocketing this year with all the infrastructure projects kicking off in the coming years, Hinckley, HS2, Crossrail, ew towns and cities to mention but a few.

You could say that about any of the companies involved with major infrastructure projects couldn't you?
Better hope they assess the costs appropriately and they make some money out of those jobs if you do buy shares in them.0 -

...or an attempt to talk up the share price of your investment in the company?

I'll believe that when I see it. All we have so far is hot air, because powerful people are making money out of the housing crisis. So they say they are not against building more homes but object to every development.bigfreddiel wrote: »ew towns and cities to mention but a few.“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -
Crossrail is hardly an infrastructure project "kicking off in the coming years", it's been going for a number of years, is 80% complete and all major construction contracts were long since awarded (i.e. unlikely that there'll be any further significant financial upside for companies like Costain and its share price).0

That seems to depend how many changes the politicians make to the contract after its signed - all great excuses to whack the price upAnonymous101 wrote: »Better hope they assess the costs appropriately and they make some money out of those jobs if you do buy shares in them.

Has Costain been awarded contracts on those? If yes, then the effect is already baked in, if no, and they dont win what is expected (even if they win some), then the shares will drop, so its hardly a no-brainer.I vote "old flannel"(ps what new towns and cities?)0 -
That'll probably be the massive post-Brexit boom of prosperity, milk and honey, etc, that some, including OP I think, fell for....AnotherJoe wrote: »(ps what new towns and cities?)

No need to, it's too late if it's in the news.0
