in Techie Stuff
my pc often fails at start up.it begins to load then may freeze or blank screen me. once we get going theres no hassle at all--has anyone got any idea what might be wrong???

Sounds as though you have a hardware/driver conflict! When you say freeze - how long are you waiting before deciding its froze?
To determine if it is hardware/driver conflict then boot into "safe mode". If Windows loads in safe mode without freezing, etc then this would point towards a hardware(IRQ) clash and/or driver related clashes.
