Ireland to West Coast USA-Flights

Hello and thanks for reading .

I am plannign atrip to the west coast around St patricks day (17th March) and running it into Easter. I am a well seasoned traveller which brings another delelma- how to get it at the right price:

My Plans:

Fly ex Dublin to SAn Francisco circa 14th March
Stay in good friends SFO (been there 6 times) until 19th, go to LAX or Las vegas, and tour to san Diego etc and back to Dublin via LAX on 29th March circa.

My questions are:

Which websites to check. I can get a great dela via Lufthamnsa and United dub to Frankfurt and to SFO and same back, a good deal via BA, BUT as I am flexible on dates I cannot find such search options.

Also ther websites will let me book flights but the stop over schedukled is very short ie 1 hour each way- is this reasonable to booka nd clear imigration and security?

I have seearched Belfast but its far too expensive (I live 1 hour from BFS and 1.5 Hrs from Dublin)

Any ideas/suggestions welcomed.

If that hour is at a US airport then it's way too short, outward at least.

If it's at a European one then it's still a bit short but probably OK. You won't need to clear immigration and customs - just security again.

In any case if the website lets you book it as a through journey then it's the airline's problem if things go pear shaped - not yours.

    For Dublin flights,

I would start with https://www.Airlingus.com, non stop both ways(LAX,SFO) around your dates 550eur ish and try to improve on that.

It is a good idea to say what sort of pricing you are getting so people can see if they are wasting your time with suggestions.

I read somewhere that there is a very good site for finding options through european hubs, that the usual sites don't throw up, but it is complicated to use and I forget what it was.

Try expedia.com and orbitz.com. You won't find cheaper flights to anywhere in the world and the options available are enormous.
