Cheap Holiday destination for single 30s in October

I have spent hours looking at holiday options from 5th October for 1 week - including Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic & Turkey. At the moment I am now hovering on Greece....in particular Zante.

We are two single chaps in our late 30s. We like to do active stuff and explore as well as have some nightlife. Does anyone know whether Zante is okay at this time of year (weather and not-too-dead-wise) or offer any other alternatives that might suit? I have considered Mark Warner resorts but they tend to be out of the way and you may as well be in any country as there is a tendancy not to venture out.

Any websites to check out for good deals would be great too. I am finding that the FirstChoice late deals is a good one. A lot of other sites make you specify where you want to go in the search so they can take ages to get through. Cheers!

try www.mytravel.com and then select late search and it should- but not always come up with all destinations.

for the week you want to travel you need to be looking at the largest resorts in greece to garuntee nightlife- so in kos it needs to be kardamena. weather should still be good- just cools of quickly in the evenings. i would also recommend malia in crete and rhodes town in rhodes.

Thanks Deva. I notice you didn't mention Zante where I think Laganas is the biggest place for nightlife. Is this because Zante is not worth bothering with at this time of year?

In my honest opinion i would avoid laganas like the plague it is a dump the surrounding resorts are much better. Have you thought about cyprus or the algarve?

Sorry i forgot to mention that directholidays seem to be coming up with some good prices for last minute hols.

Laganas is what it is like a number of the larger greek resorts but personally i think it is mor dated than the others mentioned. Ayia napa in cyprus is beautiful but may be too quiet when you want to go.

another (cheapish) alternative would be to do ibiza town as it is a great place and still lively with plenty of things to see and do
