Very Buy Now Pay Later

Hi there.
In November 2016 I took out a playstation 4 out from very on a Buy Now Pay 12 months later plan.
When December 2016 statement came through the amount due was £0, as I was on a pay 12 months later plan. Now this months statement has come through I now have to make a 'minimum payment' of £17.80 by the end of the month.
Why am I now getting this statement through asking for payment? Will next month be the same? I don't want to call them as it cost me £8 on my phone bill the last time I called them.
Can someone shed some light on this please.
Thanks in advance.

If you pay it all before the end of the 12 months period you will avoid any interest
Do you have any other items that you have purchased? (was there any delivery or insurance?)
http://www.very.co.uk/web/en/bnpl.page
the link does imply there is no payments required for 12 months but
Just so you know, delivery, installation and insurance products cannot be placed on Buy Now Pay Later, exclusions will be confirmed at the point of order. These charges will appear on your next statement.0 -
I am struggling with this sentence...Hi there.

...for three reasons:I don't want to call them as it cost me £8 on my phone bill the last time I called them.
Firstly, Regulation 41 of The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013
states:Help-line charges over basic rate
41. (1) Where a trader operates a telephone line for the purpose of consumers contacting the trader by telephone in relation to contracts entered into with the trader, a consumer contacting the trader must not be bound to pay more than the basic rate.
(2) If in those circumstances a consumer who contacts a trader in relation to a contract is bound to pay more than the basic rate, the contract is to be treated as providing for the trader to pay to the consumer any amount by which the charge paid by the consumer for the call is more than the basic rate.
Secondly, Very's help pages tell us:We know you won’t want to be kept waiting so if you can’t find the answer to your query in our Help section or in My Account, you’ll get the quickest response by calling us. Our call centre advisers are ready to assist right now on 03448 222 321
And thirdly Ofcom advises us that 03 numbers are charged at the same rate as 01 and 02 numbers by all telephone networks:Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.
These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone.
What number were you calling?
What telephone network were you using?0 -
Thanks for your reply. This was the only product I purchased. There was a £3.99 delivery charge which I can see was added to the cost of the playstation. 2 months in and they're already asking me for a minimum payment.
Going to try and contact them on their chat service today and see what they say.
In the table on my account it shows the playstation and the cost of it and in the final column it says something like credit no payment required. Strange...0 -
Is it possible that you applied for buy now pay later but didn't qualify so the offered a different credit product instead?0

did you pay the delivery charge straight away ? they don't add it to BNPL.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If I did I wasn't made aware of it.
Just confused as to why last months payment required was £0 but this months is £17 odd. Can't seem to find out much on my online Very account.0
