  • Well that went better than expected.

Did as many suggested - shoved a quartered lemon up the poor thing's bottom. Then also decided why not melt some butter, mix in some garlic puree & smear that all over it.

I was going to take a picture for you, but thought that may have been going a tad far.

Anyhoo - thanks to all for your advice - that's one more thing I can cook now.

    WTG pinkthings! You go girl!!

As a teenager, I was the 'non-cooking member' of my family (younger sister got 'O' level Dom Sc while my school didn't teach DS at all), I can quite appreciate how you felt about that task. My cookery efforts were the butt of family jokes for many years. I married a 'so-called' chef - he could cook for 20 people but rubbish at a meal for 2!!! I went to work as a kitchen assistant and learned from the people around me eventually. But the sense of personal achievement was wonderful.

Just think hun - you've done a chicken - only a few weeks to doing the turkey for Christmas Day :xmastree:. Exactly the same thing but bigger - so lower temperature and cooked for much longer. The instructions are on the back of the bag anyway - there ya go :santa2: !

You did well, kiddo. Come back to us when you need ideas for the leftovers (if there are only two of you, will be some).
