CCJ in my name but ITS NOT mine?

Hi
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of the above? When I got my credit rating report I found 3 CCJs. When I investigated them via the Northampton claims court they all related to the same company. The 'genuine Ccj' we had was via a rental company for our flat we had in London (short version is nightmare tenant). It was setttled via a repayment programme back in 2013. The other two were settled within 2 months of the alleged claim. One has already
disappeared from our record because it is more than 6 years but one remains. The court has been limited to say the least in its replies but basically said I can apply via a registration system and pay the court £250 to apply for having it removed which they will then consider my application with no guarantee it will be removed. Should I do this or go to the company I know are listed as being the one which registered the incorrectCcj. We continue to pay our debt off so I don't really want to risk paying £250 if it won't change anything? Any advice gratefully received thanks x

Sounds like the CCJ is in your name and it is yours?
If you didn't pay within one month then the CCJ will stay on your credit report for 6 years.
If you paid after 2 months as you suggest, then the CCJ is correctly on your report but settled/status (or similar status).0 -
No it isn't actually as I explained I have investigated it via the claims court. It's recorded as settled but there have been no payments from my bank account to the court on the dates registered for amounts. The courts cannot provide me with any paperwork which backs up the registration of the CCJ I dispute. I fully accept responsibility for the CCJ in my name which has a payment plan and recorded as settled as evidence.0

Hi,
You are talking about Judgment set aside.
If you genuinely disagree with a CCJ, you can ask the court to ‘set it aside' for a fee, currently £255,00.
If this happens, the CCJ is removed from the Register. This doesn’t necessarily mean the case is over – it just goes back to the start, and the creditor will have to submit the court forms again.
If you don’t have a genuine reason for wanting the case set aside, or the court thinks you are wasting its time or lying, you could face fines or even a prison sentence.
Reasons to set aside
The main reason a court will set aside a judgment if there’s been a mistake, such as a default judgment when you had sent back the form asking for more time.
If you didn’t get the papers, the court will expect you to prove you’d given the creditor your new address.
Likewise, if you missed the hearing, the court will want a good reason before setting the judgment aside.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you for your advice. I'll look in to the judgement set aside aspect. What I don't understand and can't get to the bottom of is how it would be recorded as settled if I had never paid anything over the timescale it proposes and instead paid a different amount to the same creditor over a different timescale years later with the same address and details. thanks for taking the time to reply.0
