Thanks michele I am ideally looking for something for 6 nights and less than <£70 per day on average if possible.

Your best bet is to use a site like Booking.com or Hotels.com, sort by area, and then start looking for hotels in your price range that gets good reviews. Don't forget to take into account cashback and that you earn reward nights with sites like Hotels.com.

    Relais Trevi 95 Boutique Hotel

I stayed there in October. Really close to the Trevi Fountain, easy access to bus tours, great restaurants either end of the street (definitely go to That's Amore), lovely friendly helpful staff, clean rooms and breakfast on the roof terrace included (buffet but they also do eggs and bacon to order).

On our final day we walked across various plazas from the Vatican to Panthenon and back to hotel - very doable.

    And price was great :)

If you have some suggestions for AirBNB they are welcome as well :)

You need to decide what you want, full home, bedroom only, how many going and exact dates.

The site is easy to navigate and there are often reviews of the properties to help you decide.

We were in Rome in February last year. Apartment near the Vatican, four adults, three double bedrooms, two toilets/showers, less than half the price of b&b.

More space all round. We stocked up on breakfast supplies from a nearby supermarket.

Apartment owner organised airport transport to apartment. We were impressed with pick up and cost, booked the return on arrival.

Host also sat down with us and gave us numerous handy tips.
  • Would look on Booking.com and go for scores of over 8, price will vary a lot on dates as Easter will be popular.

A lot of cheapest central hotels are by the train station but this area at least used to have lots of prostitutes so personally would avoid.
