Avios Household Account

Unfortunately, my husband died very suddenly nearly a month ago and I am in the process of 'sorting out' everything. My brain isn't quite functioning as normal so I'll doubtless be back with other questions even though things should be very straightforward.
We have an Avios Household account with quite a few miles in it. All I've found on the Avios site is that the miles are lost when a member dies, but presumably that shouldn't apply in a household account? I'd like to know what should happen before contacting Avios.
Thanks

The points your husband earned will be lost, but those you or other members earned will still be available.0

Sorry for your loss.
You have two options:
1. Contact them, they have been known to pass the deceased's Avios on to their beneficiary. Having a will leaving you the Avios and/or the residue of the estate will certainly help. That you are in a household account shouldn't really make a difference as it is the beneficiary of the estate that should get the Avios (if anyone).
2. Do nothing. Continue to spend the Avios, as they are held in a household account any miles you spend will be deducted proportionally from each person's balance. If you intend following this approach I would consider also getting an Avios or BAEC or Iberia account for you (and any other household members) going forward (whichever one you don't currently have). Your aim is to reduce the balance on the deceased's account as you spend, collecting more Avios on your account will mean it takes longer to reduce the balance.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. That's going to be interesting - we'd joined forces with Tesco Clubcard too, and most miles were probably bought via that while it looked a better idea than it does now. I've no idea whose name they'll be in!
It looks like Avios will not be at the top of 'things needing done'!. . .I did not speak out

I was checking if I could identify where the miles had come from (couldn't) after reading Keep pedalling's reply so didn't see your answer.
Only my husband and I were in the household account and everything is left to me (and I am executor), so I might contact them eventually.
I've just remembered we have some BA miles too ....
So much for keeping things simple!. . .I did not speak out
