Flooded by neighbours burst pipe - insurance help

Last week our neighbours had a leak, they were away and we noticed when water started pouring through our light fittings,
Thankfully we were able to get in to their property and shut off the water.
We were able to turn off the electrics before they blew and move all our belongings and mop up the water etc.
We have loss adjusters coming this week. Have never claimed on insurance before wondered if any one had advice.
The house is small terraced over 100 years old. The water came through light fittings, light switches, other random places and also traced the plasterboard on the ceiling. Our open staircase was boxed in a cupboards put in. You can't actually see the back wads as there is plaster board infront now but worried it got damp behind there.
The cosmetic stuff is obvious but worried about the hidden damage, any one got experience of what to do about that?

Sounds awful

They should have someone out to assess damage to the property and belongings. I imagine at the same time they will look for 'hidden' damage.0 -
It doesn't sound like your neighbors were negligent therefore it will be your insurance you claim off not theirsI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
