Hi
We are currently On the BG Collective Fix Feb17 Dual Fuel. When looking at the energy saving club, it is showing my best options are £170 a year extra for a variable plan and £191 a year for a fixed option.:eek: we are low users at that.
I did t think energy had risen so much in the last year??

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?

  • Check out individual gas and electricity suppliers as gas prices haven't risen as quickly as electricity . Dual fuel deals are not necessarily the cheapest options these days.

The MSE collective ended around 2 months ago. Energy prices are rising last time I checked about 3 months back it would cost us about £110 more with same company for a dual fuel fixed. Luckily my fixed doesn't end until october 2018

Another question after reading a nearby thread, is what happens to my BG Smart meter if I Switch??? Some of the small companies do not even seem to have apps or decent web pages, and I like to see what is happening. DG

I believe your meter becomes a dumb meter and only works like the old fashioned one

Suppliers are free to set any standing charge that they like: a high standing charge makes the unit price look better, and can work in the customer's favour if we have a very cold Winter.
