Have energy costs gone up so much?
Hi
We are currently On the BG Collective Fix Feb17 Dual Fuel. When looking at the energy saving club, it is showing my best options are £170 a year extra for a variable plan and £191 a year for a fixed option.:eek: we are low users at that.
I did t think energy had risen so much in the last year??

Check out individual gas and electricity suppliers as gas prices haven't risen as quickly as electricity . Dual fuel deals are not necessarily the cheapest options these days.0

The MSE collective ended around 2 months ago. Energy prices are rising last time I checked about 3 months back it would cost us about £110 more with same company for a dual fuel fixed. Luckily my fixed doesn't end until october 20180

I currently use around 11 kWh per day just a little over 4,000 kWh per annum on electric cant seem to get it any lower I have all modern electric appliances and bulbs I even have appliances which are switched off on extension leads like blu-ray, xbox one etc.
As for gas mine hits roof this time of our annual usage is 11146 kWh per Year and we have a log burner too which we dont use every day0 -
Another question after reading a nearby thread, is what happens to my BG Smart meter if I Switch??? Some of the small companies do not even seem to have apps or decent web pages, and I like to see what is happening. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

I believe your meter becomes a dumb meter and only works like the old fashioned one0

Suppliers are free to set any standing charge that they like: a high standing charge makes the unit price look better, and can work in the customer's favour if we have a very cold Winter. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
