To me this looks like an ok deal. Wonder whether anyone can advise?
I phoned and asked about the marks on rear passenger side that are mentioned. It says it is quite badly scraped but not dented, and would cost about £150 to fix. I don't mind leaving it really but will depend how bad it is. I might go and look at it tomorrow.
I looked up the MOT details and it hasn't had anything major. Sounds like quite a fun car to drive and would last me a year hopefully.
Car not having anything major isn't necessarily a good thing, could just mean you've got all the expense to come.
Your buying a banger, mot history service history etc at this point carry very little weight. You listen and look at the current condition!! In this price range cars become disposable. You buy for the length of mot more than how many previous owners etc.
What would bother me is the part exchange the clear0 -
Yep am looking for something to last as long as it lasts - a year is good for now! Trying to avoid getting something that dies after a month but I guess it's hard to predict. I am considering makes/models that are least likely to, as far as that is possible. Some brands are more reliable at older ages than others.0

Couldn't see the Peugeot and it had gone a few days later.
Now thinking of this though would have to get it transported to nearer where I live. I think this company does it if the car hasn't sold within a certain time frame:

Any advice?

So I am nearly at the point of buying an 07 plate mini. The MOT details here:
https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
I can't include a link to it as it has a £200 refundable deposit on it so they took it off sale. I test drove it today, seems fine.
It is with Evans Halshaw who have some horrendous reviews and I did have to haggle a bit to take off all the 'extras' which were added onto the finance (Ie protection of price paid in case of accident etc, warranty which may or may not be worthless). I need some finance - total cost of car is £3200. Seems to have service stamps at main dealers locally.
tbh I haven't found the process 100% transparent but then I doubt I would with any dealer or trade seller. It is frustrating having to battle for the right to information and I wonder whether to go ahead - said I'd let them know tomorrow.
I would quite like to buy something that turns out to be decent for a few years so that the worry goes away but there is less worry if I have no car.
Any advice on the price of this and look of it based on the MOTs would be appreciated. It looked in good share though amidst all the waiting/test drive/finance talk I forgot to look under the bonnet!!
I haven't seen any service history, just the stamps which are not for the whole period - just for 6 years.0 -
Reg plate KB07 UBZ - thought it copied in above but it doesn't! Mini.0

I cancelled this morning. Decided to look on Autotrader for private or trade seller. I prefer to have the chance to get my hands dirty, get a proper opinion on the car itself, see the paperwork with time to look through it, rather than the sanitised car buying through a showroom! Also my debts are still such that any extra monthly payments are not worth it. Even a friend told me the other day that I seem more relaxed nowadays.
Also I am doing well with debt repayment (MSE 10 year anniversary today!:j). Maybe I'm a slow learner with debts for so long but in that time I've bought a flat and got to grips with my finances much more. And I'm vaguely knowledgeable enough not to let car salesmen/women make a killing out of me.0
