Did you first ask if you could return it within the 14 days after delivery? If so I think they are legally bound to accept it and refund you.

And they can deduct a reasonable amount for it now being in a used condition.

Knightstyle, there was a date in Newcastle for the event, but it's sadly already passed.

I think we were over the 2 weeks when I rang them, it arrived dec 19th, and I called on Tuesday this week. But I was calling them for advice mainly. I really still think it's not fit for purpose, a wheelchair is meant to be pushed without fear of falling out. When you do push down on the bar ends to go up a bump (or down) the back kind of collapses into the middle, as there's no real strength to the back rest.

I'm still looking into alternatives, but today my dad refused to sit in the wheelchair as he was worried about it tipping him out.

I would add that some lightweight wheelchairs with one large wheel and two swivel small ones at the front are also prone to tipping if they come to a small obstruction such as a raised paving slab.
We found the problem is the design of the front swivel wheels, the "cheaper" ones swivel too far back and so the centre of gravity is near the front of the chair. If you look at sports wheelchairs they have the front wheels well forward for stability.
So make sure you try on uneven ground before you buy a replacement.
