Notice of assignment

I am selling a flat and purchasing a house both involve a management company I have been asked to pay a notice of assignment charge on both properties is this correct ?

    Check lease and look for what the flat is leasehold and the house I am purchasing is freehold but has a management company to look after maintenance of exterior boundaries ie trees, lawns, pathways etc ?

    I would have thought as a seller or purchaser you paid one or the other ?

    Either way, I cant read your lease from here, but if that's what it says, that's what you pay.


    There will be a similar document for the freehold property.

    i thought usually the purchaser would pay the notice of assignment fee, as the purchaser's solicitor would usually serve the notice (for the flat). So you'd just pay for the house notice fee. unless clause in flat lease that you both pay? I'd check with your solicitor
