Last minute AI holiday

Hi All,
I'm thinking about booking a last minute (around the end January) holiday. Anyone have any tips on who to look at? It seems t be easy enough to get a 7 night trip but 10 nights is looking problematic. Normally I'd fly from Dublin and organize myself but for an AI package I'd be willing to travel from any UK/Ireland airport.
I was thinking maybe the Indian Ocean or Thailand. Something around 10 nights.
Any tips on who's good and who to avoid would be really appreciated.

AI is available in Phuket and along the Andaman Coast eg. Khao Lak.
But you'll eat much better outside of your hotel and away frm the tourist areas. Go Room Only and amaze all your senses.0 -

Thanks Pete. I've been to Thailand a few times before, and completely get what you're saying. TBH this is one of the few exclusively "sit on the beach" holidays we've had and we're really only looing for complete resort downtime. That's why I was thinking AI would be the way to go.0 -

In which case you might consider a part of the world where AI is the best option: possibly Egypt? Jamaica? Maldives?0 -

I've looked at the Maldives and Mauritius and they're definitively an option. Anyone have an experience with travel companies to look at?
Don't really fancy Egypt at the moment.0 -
Look at the late deals sections of the tour operators websites such as first Choice Thomson also holiday hypermarket and latedeals.co.ukPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Mercury Direct do holidays to Hoi An, in Vietnam. There's several resort hotels with a choice of Board.
Hoi An is only 40 minutes by road from Da Nang Airport, and is a fabulous part of the world. We had a week there as part of a month d-i-y'ing round south and central Vietnam 15 months ago, and could quite happily hung around for longer. A taster video...

There loads more on You Tube.
Brits are visa exempt at the moment for stays in Vietnam of 15 days and less [arrival and departure dates both count].
I'm seriously tempted to whisk the cook off there for a big birthday lazy treat in July.:)0 -

If Only seem to be good for long haul, my colleague uses them regularly for her own holidays. I've had a few quotes with them and they seem to be very competitive. Also if you like a nice ticket wallet, luggage labels and proper tickets they're lovely. Kuoni are pretty good too and they will try and price match other companies.0 -

If Mauritius appeals to you then look at Seychelles as well. You might also find something attractive on Nossi Be (Madagascar).
As for Egypt: any AI resorts that are still functioning would have excellent security, and would probably need to offer excellent prices to attract any business at all. Worth considering, although I agree that any other kind of tourism in Egypt would not be a good idea right now.0 -
First choice do all inclusive s.
You could go to any of the canaries or maybe Cape Verde. They do Mexico or Dominican Republic for 10 days.0 -
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone.
Ended up going with the Maldives and got a good deal with Kuoni.
Looked at the Seychelles too but it seems to be the wet season.
Something to look forward to after the snow.0
