Tuning into TV satellites using motorised system

My dad has a motorised system for tuning into different TV satellites and I said I would help him as he's having problems accessing some satellites. I don't know a thing about using this tech so need some help or guidance on where to go for help. He can access other satellites but has issues with these ones as he either can't get a signal (for free channels) or the channel lasts around 30 seconds (before the picture goes) so Im thinking its a tuning issue. He's using a Technomate TM-F3/5.

The satellites I have are:

23.5e Astra 1D3A
23.5e Astra 2/Eurobird
30.0w Hispasat
1.0w Thor
4.8e Sirius 2/3
(and a few others)

Can anyone help?

Picture lasts 30 seconds then goes sounds more like they are not free or the tuner needs an update.

Look up the broadcaster websites for the 30sec channels and see if they're encrypted.

Im pretty sure the ones he tried were free as the channels had a symbol next to them to say which ones were free and which ones weren't.

I'll check if it needs a firmware update.
