Any recommendations for builders? (cardiff area)

Hi, we've just received planning permision (and building regs!) approval for a single storey extention, which will include a new kitchen. We've already asked two builders for quotes and we know they do good work as they've been recommended to us & we've seen their work.

However, we think we should get a third quote but are stuck for recommendations. I don't like to just pluck someone from Yellow Pages, so if anyone can recommend a builder they have used recently, or someone whom you know does good work, it would be greatly appreciated.

VT(Terry) Jones of Llantwit Fardre. Excellent builder but does get booked up with work and can be slow at returning quotes.

Thanks Backbiter. Not too worried about the slowness as both the other builders are booked solid till january & are taking a while over the quote.

Can I ask how you know this builder's work...has he done work for you?

Yes - he's built us two two-storey extensions, plus two garden stone walls. I wouldn't use anyone else!

Mark Edmunds at Cranbourne Property Services Ltd - very reliable, honest and hard-working. He does get booked up but will usually come and do an estimate very quickly, although he won't give a start date until he is sure that he is available.
He did an attic conversion for us and some other bits and pieces all of which we were really pleased with. One attic window showed signs that it was leaking the first time that it rained, and he came straight out and sorted it. (Slates needed adjusting) He and his workers always showed up when they said that they would and even phoned if they were going to be a little late.
