Ring video doorbell

Does anyone have one of these? Am after peoples opinions, as considering getting one for our house. Ideally looking at the Ring Pro as its smaller and will fit our door frame better...
What do you think of them?

Was looking at this myself. Ring Pro not much use to me as I don't have fixed wiring for a doorbell (is this still common over here?). Unfortunately they have no plans for adding Apple HomeKit support to the original Ring, only the Pro, so that kind of ruled it out for me.0

I don't really understand the point of them. If you're not in, you're not in. Most of the time when I'm not at home I'm at work, where I frequently wouldn't be able to check my phone for whoever was at the door anyway. And even if I could, what would the point be?
I'm not trying to persuade you out of it, I just don't understand their purpose, I guess. I'd rather spend £400 odd quid on other things in life!Mortgage - £[STRIKE]68,000 may 2014[/STRIKE] 45,680.0 -
We were looking at it as £200 for a motion operated CCTV that covers the front of the house (we have a full width open driveway with 2 cars on it) and thought it easier to install (and less unsightly) than a cheap CCTV system with actual cameras on the front of the house and a hard drive hidden away somewhere0

I suppose it could be useful if delivery drivers turn up (and then later say they didn't). Or you could direct them to leave the parcel where you want.
In my case if it was somebody I trusted I could also let them in by giving them the guest code for our front door lock.
They can also be useful if you're in and want to monitor who is at your door (cold callers etc.).
I do wonder if they potentially fall foul of data protection rules as they will generally be pointing directly away from your property and possibly filming a public space (like the main road/pavement). You're normally supposed to register with the ICO if you have CCTV pointing off your property. No idea if something like this would be exempt.0
