What do you have on your kitchen worktop?

Blummin Everything haha.
Big Slow cooker, 2 kettles, Tea pot, coffee machine ,toaster, food proc, hub's big food mixer,3 pots of utensils, food slicer, bread bin, vacuum sealer.
Even the draining board has a wooden drainer sitting on it.
We have a ceramic hob that often doubles as a work surface.
Mugs hang on the wall of the kitchen. Pan lids do too. Our 6x6 kitchen is just about navigable.
The bread machines are in the other room in a cupboard where they plug in, there's a big dehydrator in there too.0 -
Huge mortar and pestle, salt pig and a pump bottle of soap at the sink, kettle sits on the cooker keeping hot all day. everything else is put away.
I cook everyday and would rather get something out to use it than move it to clean.0 -
Microwave, kettle, eggs in dish, George foreman, toaster, sugar tea bags etc on tray.
All are used regularly.0 -
Microwave, heavy granite pestle and mortar, two kilner jars (one rice one lentils), old pickle pot of utensils by the stove, h.m tiled stand to put hot pans on, set of 6 cubbyholes holding 4 tea-caddies and 2 food storage jars. Anything else out there is temporarily because it's being used, and an interloper.
Kettle is stove-top kind, don't own a toaster or any other kitchen electricals.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I've a shortage of worktop and shortage of worktop that has a plug.
1st square: Under a wall unit; toaster and kettle permanently plugged in.
2nd square: Empty now, but it's under a wall unit so limited use.
3rd square: Unusable as there's no power and it's directly under the gas boiler
4th square: Almost unusable as water from the sink can creep, unnoticed, to there, so it's best to never put anything there. There's no socket there anyway.
So that leaves "the worktop", which is two squares wide and has two sockets. The microwave is there permanently plugged in, taking up half the space. The other half is where I put the slow cooker, or the toaster oven, when using those.
Toaster oven, when not used, sits on top of the breadbin.
Slow cooker, when not used, conveniently fills one half of one of the four base units.
What I've started to do, piece by piece, is to remove anything I am not using and putting it upstairs in a box. There's stuff that's rarely used, all out of the way.
I've no space/sockets for any gadgets such as mixers or food processors, whatsoever.
Kitchen design/unit design was so much better years ago... these days everything's awkward, with tiny cupboards... and nowhere to put anything. My parents had one run of a triple cupboard - inside the bottom shelf and the middle shelf area ran the entire width of the units, making it easier to fit things into than the daft single units in so many of today's kitchens.
I rented a 1980s Barrett studio flatlet that had better kitchen provision than what I've got now!0 -
I forgot to mention the pestle and mortar. I'm scared to put that in a cupboard as its so blooming heavy. It sits on my window ledge storing my garlic
It's something I use often so I like it to hand
I also have pans hanging as well as utensils.0 -
Kettle, toaster, coffee machine, microwave, stand mixer, blender and bread machine.
I've got all my spices on a Lakeland add-a-shelf and and use their caddies underneath.
All the other gadgets - pie maker (:D I love my pie maker
), sandwich toaster, Ninja, plug in halogen hob - are stored in Really Useful boxes and on top of the wall cabinets.
I also have a Halo which is in a cupboard.
Using the space above the wall units really helps keep the clutter down.:hello:0 -

Could you hang them from the door?
I've got a door in between the kitchen and a small utility area - I use an overdoor rack for hanging bulky items.
Something like this:

Or use single hooks from the cabinet doors:

I used to live in Army quarters and holes were a big 'no no' so I learnt a lot of tricks over the years

I have quite a small L shaped kitchen in my tiny flat, though I have supplemented it with a Billy bookcase from Ike@ with doors on against the opposite wall. It was going free from a relative and it sounds weird but actually looks fine! Holds all my containers and cookery books.

On my main worktop I have:
Microwave - with a couple of trays propped up between it and the wall because they won't fit in the cupboard!
Kettle
Tea, coffe and sugar
Utensil pot
...... Dirty dishes..... :rotfl:
On top of the bookcase I have:
Fruit bowl
Tub of cereal
Jars of pasta and rice
My spices and sauces are all up on the wall on picture shelves, also from Ike@. (I don't work for them, honest!) They're really handy and a nice small size.Making mistakes is not the end of the world, though it often feels that way!0 -
I have loads of rubbish! When I get home from work I have a tendency to just throw everything on the work top. Working Right to Left we have:
A big pile of post & children's homework that will probably never get done :S
Amazon Echo Dot
Sonos
A pile of cook books I need to move at some point
a blender
a food processor (really need to look at getting rid of one!)
a toaster
my sink
a coffee grinder
a coffee machine
a kettle (we are dedicated to coffee in my house)
the hob
a big pot full of utensils
I've just realised that I don't need most of that so will probably have a clean up when I get home
