Do we need to pay return cost for items advertised badly?

Personally, I wouldn't have needed to ask them anything, as all the information is in the product listing. However, if I wasn't sure I wouldn't have assumed a feature was present unless it was specifically mentioned.ThumbRemote wrote: »Please do tell us what other questions you'd have asked the retailer.
You can continue to link to the legislation, but I still don't agree that the ad doesn't meet all the requirements of the law.
I'm sure we don't need to argue this further.
The OP can certainly take it up with the retailer if she has a mind to.0 -

Yes, belt fit means seatbelt. There's no way you can fix a polystyrene seat in with an ISO fix kit0 -
Also this is clearly described as a category group 0-1-2 car seat .( ridiculous though for kiddicare to claim that A non-reclining car seat can go from 0- 6 years-it can't!)
This is laid down as a specific type .
Group 2 car seats can only be held in place by a seat belt.
It's all there in the listing .0 -

Please stop digging...you've now added lack of English comprehension two days into 2017 to your lack of Maths skills from 2016....quite a feat!:D0 -
It might be worth noting that The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 were revoked upon the implementation of The Consumer Rights Act 2015.0

Belt fit refers to how the seat is attached to the car. Not how the child is attached to the seat, which is the issue the OP has.
(e.g. see http://www.kiddicare.com/p/Ferrari_I-Max_SP_Isofix_Group_1-2-3_Car_Seat_in_Black.htm which contains the same 'fitting type' option, but with an Isofix entry. I'm not sure children yet come with their own Isofix fittings).0 -

Are you quite sure about that?
I understood they were strengthened by the Consumer Protection (Amendment) Regulations in 2014, but left unaffected by the Consumer Rights Act.0 -

The op suggested he wasn't aware the seat needed to be held in by a seatbelt. There's no other way his seat could be attached in the car any other way .
You seem To be going round in circles.
There's no mention of isofix .
From the ops viewpoint, it's a bit like buying a car that's called an automatic, then complaining it doesn't drive itself.
Everyone should know, or should have researched the fact that a 0-1-2 car seat can only be held in by a seatbelt . There's absolutely no reference to ISO fix in the advert for the seat, therefore the only way the seat can be attached is with a seatbelt wrapped round the whole thing- i.e. " seatbelt fit" as stated in the fitting guide
The ops had a lucky escape. There's a reason no decent retailer stocks their seats.0
