BEWARE - ALDI PAIGNTON 18 December 2016

:wall::wall::wall:BEWARE - ALDI PAIGNTON 18 December 2016
We have received a Parking Charge Notice for £70.00 from Parking Eye for being 10 mins over their prescribed maximum parking time at this store. The delay in leaving was exasperated by inordinately long queues at the checkouts as insufficient were manned and the store was incredibly busy due to Christmas. We were actually in the store spending over £100.00 and when queried with Aldi Customer Services their attitude was 'It's nothing to do with us you must lodge an appeal with Parking Eye!'
Disgusted with this I searched and found an email address for Aldi's National General Manager 'gmd.cs@aldi.co.uk' and send appropriate email stating I had no intention of paying and would happily defend same at court if they instigated any proceedings for recovery.
Within a couple of hours and following further emails Aldi said they would negotiate with Parking Eye on our behalf to have the 'ticket' rescinded - how incredibly generous of them.
What they obviously don't consider is that there are 3 other major supermarkets within 3/4 mile radius of this store.
Thanks ALDI you may be cheap but so is your Customer Service and Good Will.

Have you written bad stuff on their Facebook page? They hate that.

Did you tell ALDI that they are responsible for the actions of their agents, and you will consider charging ALDI for wasting your time

It always makes me laugh when a supermarket claims they cannot do anything about cancelling one of these fake fines and you have to "negotiate" with the PPC.

It's the supermarket who hired these clowns who are just their agents and should do whatever their client orders. Or did Parking Eye just wander in off the street and set up shop without telling Aldi ?

Aldi negotiate with Parking Eye ???

Such a joke, they employ PE and with their instructions the ticket will be cancelled.

Don't accept this utter rubbish from Aldi

Until the OP hears directly from parking eye that this has been cancelled then its best to asume the charge is still live, so to speak.
Whey not fire a letter/response to ALDI something like this:

Re your offer to negotiate with Parking eye, and your customer service response stating this is nothing to do with us....
First of all I am shocked and horrified that a company such as ALDI believes it is appropriate to appoint t a company with such a poor reputation as Parking eye to act as Aldis Agents, in Aldis Car parks.
One report on-line about the nature of Parking eye particularly caught my attention here, Parking eye sue parents of seriously ill child: http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/parkingeye-sue-parent-of-seriously-ill.html

As Principal you allow Parking eye to operate on your land as your agents, and therefore you are jointly and severally liable for the actions of your agents. This means that when your customer services team responded to my request, and informed me that this was nothing to with them, you lied to me, I can only assume that this is because you do not wish to deal with this matter, or that you would prefer to allow your agents to profit from this as a result of their aggressive practices.

I do not appreciate being lied to, and likewise I do not appreciate having my time wasted as a result of your lack of due diligence in allowing an aggressive and predatory company such as parking eye to operate on your land.
I have wasted enough of my time in dealing with this, and i am now requesting that you take the following action:
    * Issue a full and un reserved apology for what has occurred
    * Refund me for my time wasted on this matter at (upto £19 per hour)
    * Issue full re-assurances that this will never happen again, and provide me with evidence that you have taken the appropriate disciplinary action against your agents, Parking eye

    ***********************
You could also post something like that to their face book page, following the busy Christmas/New years period I have a feeling that there will be many many more cases like yours appearing
