Carpet not sitting in the grippers?

I'm pretty sure grippers is the wrong term here as they're the wooden bits around the perimeter of the room, right? So i'm talking about the metal bits that join room-to-room.
Anyway we had our carpet fitted the middle of last year some time. I can't remember the thickness of the carpet. It wasn't (i'd say) super thick or anything but the underlay was Cloud 9, so 11mm or whatever that is, fairly thick stuff.
All was well until this week i noticed one of the doors had become harder to close & i couldn't figure out why until i saw this....

Some of you know me by now & you'll know that i'm far far from an expert, but to me it's like the carpet has been cut a little short, like there's just not enough to go under that gold bit & stick in. Not very short but just a little short.
Obviously it stuck in there (though it always looked a little raised) once upon a time. I just can't get it to go in there & i don't really want to start mushing that metal strip & damage it.
Now aside from getting someone out which would require using annual leave early in the year (no-no) just for what is probably a 5 minute job if that to a good professional, what would be the best way to get this stuck down?
Not very professional but the only thing i could think of was to get it tacked down somehow. A big unsightly nail would be a no no but a fine pin like nail wouldn't be up to the job either.
So...?
Thanks

You can buy wider door strips which should fix the issue.

IIRC we paid for new strips but i guess they just came in & saw that one was already down so 'it be reet' attitude.
Everyone being about the shortcuts these days.0 -
I had this problem recently and it was an easy fix. I just used a wide wallpaper scraper to tuck the carpet back into the bar strip all the way so it engaged the spikes. In my case the carpet had enough stretch in it to reach and it turned out better than the carpet fitter left it.0
