And all the threads about your bank accounts, loans, credit searches. Just do one for your life called "the world vs me". Should cover it.

I've posted nothing about loan. Although regarding bank accounts, credit searches etc, isn't this forum for things like that? I think you'd have a fit if I posted anything not regarded to those

It just seems that you have an issue with absolutely everything you buy, look at, use, borrow etc and even when you are given perfectly good advice or an answer you carry on. Does anything go right for you? Ever?:rotfl:

How much am I looking at for getting it looked at and sorted approximately?

Couldn't tell you. I was quoted between 500-600 for a new clutch. I guess it would vary per car.

For them to look at it, I would assume an hourly rate. Shouldn't take more than an hour if you give them the rough idea. Sometimes they do this for free.

Take it too a garage and tell them what you think is wrong and ask if they can check and quote you on it. This should be free unless they are really busy. Do you have a Mr Clutch near you?

Plenty go right for me, it's just trouble after trouble with my car. Can't a guy just ask for a bit of advice on a gearbox issue now? Meaning could this be linked to previous issues, is it me who's at fault or what? Before I go out there wasting money on it..seriously :rotfl:

Before committing to have any expensive work done consider what the car is worth and how much it will be to get it to a standard you are happy with.
If you spend hundreds of pounds on a new clutch you will still have a car requiring further repairs.
Sometimes it's best to get rid and get a different car rather than throw money at a lemon.
Just have a sit down and write down the numbers to see what makes sense.

I suspect the current gearbox issues and the multiple threads about lack of power all stem from this original owner error. The incident described could well have damaged the clutch to the point where it now slips when pulling away perceived by an inexperienced driver as a lack of power. The clutch has then deteriorated further to the point the clutch does not fully disengage making it difficult to select gears. The gears become easier to select after switching the engine off and back on because this allows the shafts in the gear box to come to rest.

Using a clutch specialist I would expect a new clutch to be around £300 fitted or £350 if you have also damaged the selector fork which is quite likely given the length of time it has been faulty and you are continuing to drive it. If not fixed the clutch will continue to deteriorate until one day it just gives up on you leaving you stranded. Better to fix it now when you have control of when it goes to the garage.

Sorry but you made a rod for your own back. if you hadn't started so many multiple threads, one thread wouldn't make a difference as you wouldn't look like an attention seeker.

Seems Angeycrow has given the answer. You smoked your clutch by poor driving, this would explain all the symptoms you describe.
