No date is given. This particular sale seems to have begun when the Dollar strengthened significantly against the Pound as a result of Brexit concerns!!0 -
engageme.tv is going well today. I have 38 so far but yesterday I only managed 6sb.
Liking just leaving it in the background have to check sometimes as a box pops up to ask if still watching.0 -
I get fed up with everyone getting so excited about the "Sale" on the paypal gift cards etc.
As far as I can tell in the US 100 SB = $1
$1 = 81.3p
so in the US you should be able to exchange the equivalent of 1000 SB for £8.13
but in the case of the £10 Paypal gift card 'sale', 1600 gives us £10
but the US ratio is
1000SB = £8.13
or
1600 = £13
So even in the sale - we are still worse off by £3 for every 1600 SB we exchange - a difference of 30% compared to our US friends !
It certainly does not feel like a sale to me - more like not ripping us off as much as usual....
...
Thought I'd repost parts of my comment from earlier on the 'sale'
I agree with the poster above - I think its probably 'permanent' whilst the exchange rate is so bad - but using the word 'sale' is very misleading..0 -
And how is comparing UK swagbucks to US helpful? It's a sale for the UK because it is cheaper at present than it is normally. And it's not just paypal. But using paypal as an example. £25 is currently 949 points cheaper - which equates as an extra £5 on 5000 points.
I only asked if anyone knew when it was meant to finish..I wasn't expecting a moralising mathematically fueled value judgement. Maybe those extra £5 don't mean much to you but for some of us those extra £5 are worth a lot.Make £520 a year in 2020 so far (£0 cash £0 AGC)

... Totally wasn't what Richyp was saying (as I read it). Just that if you compare the value of 100SB in the US to the value of 100SB in the UK, they are not worth the same. Absolutely wasn't saying that £5 isn't worth anything ಠ_ಠ People have been asking for months and the last anyone heard from Swagbucks, they said it would run "until the end of the year" (2016). No-one knows when it'll end (£25 PayPal has been on sale since I joined last May), so make the most of it while it's on offer but don't be surprised if it changes, simple.
Make £2020 in 2020 - £263.78/£2020
2020 totals
Swagbucks - £100 | Prolific Academic - £44.54 | Qmee - £10 | PopulusLive - £50

Wow - talk about an over reaction!
My point is that 'sales' don't go on as long as this one is - hence using the word sale is misleading. Is it a better value than before? - of course. It is 'still' fair value compared to the US (whicfh is absolutely a valid comparison because thats where they are based and thats where all decisions come regarding how much they pay out.). - no its not and it never has been.
£5 is £5 ( I never implied it was not and object to your comment that I am somehow implying it means nothing to me) but if you are happy to suddenly have to watch 20 toolbar TV videos instead of 10 as it used to be to earn 3SB , not to mention all the extras that the US get (regular nCrave, Watch, nGage, etc) that we don't then you happily stay in silence.. I used to be able to see the US site because of a proxy server (via the US ) that my old work used and I can promise you that the UK is the poor cousin here.
I'm just trying to point out that its not really a sale - but you believe what you want.0 -

They did also have seem to have reduced the required watch time from around 52 seconds per vid to around 35, so at least it's not as bad as it was when they first changed.
And yes, I do sometimes watch these things using a timer0
