Blocked pipe

Our kitchen sink drains down via PVC to the basement where the PVC connects to a larger series of pipes, about 1m long (copper?) as our house was buit in the 1920s.
There is a blockage but I've confirmed that it is further down, in the copper section. I've tried putting Mr Muscle and boiling water and using this http://www.screwfix.com/p/drain-unblocker/11325?kpid=11325&cm_mmc=Google-_-Product%20Listing%20Ads-_-Sales%20Tracking-_-sales%20tracking%20url&gclid=Cj0KEQiA7qLDBRD9xJ7PscDCu5IBEiQAqo3BxEnA24_jL6koPOE5vSXuU_656UtE303SQMeEvmM3O_QaAiCZ8P8HAQ
Cant power through whatever is clogging it.
Anyone else come accross this before? What should I do?

Hot turkey fat?
Make sure it is not the trap or U bend first. Open them up and once they are clear use the unblocker below.

Thanks!
I've actually disconnected the pvc pipes in the basement so it's well below the trap or u bend. Used the snake directly into the metal pipes but still no joy. (innuendo not intended!)0 -
Time to call in a plumber? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

These work well, but the piping should ideally be filled with water first - brimming with water, rather than empty. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRAIN-BLASTER-POWER-CLEANER-PLUMBING-4-ADAPTORS-PRESSURE-4-BAR-CA69-/271960001144?hash=item3f52144a78:g:jvQAAOSwu4BV0eJk
the other way, if you have good mains cold water pressure is to firmly attach a hose to the cold water, wrap a plastic bag securely around the other end to form a bung and hold this bung onto the copper tubing, and while holding on to the bung and the copper tube securely, turn on the water and let the water pressure force the blockage0
