Thanks Voyager we are flying into Dehli so looks like e visa is an option for us. I will let you know how it goes, we don't go to India until April so will apply at the appropriate time...

If you go to the TA Goa board and look on the right hand side, there's a list of 'Top Questions about Goa'.

The top one is 'how to apply for an e tourist visa'.
It was a sticky but the member who maintains it for the benefit of travellers has been having problems with TA.

It will take you to the official site rather than the agency used by Voyager2002 and if you have any queries, someone on TA will answer them.

Your going to be a little 'warm' up there in April.

One tip for anyone applying for a 'normal' tourist visa. Once you've mastered the form if you are applying online for an appointment to take them in in person
TURN OFF YOUR POP-UP BLOCKER or you will go around in circles.
Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)

Just to let you know that the evisa sticky on the Goa board is now back on.
It gives you a step-by-step guide to completing the form and uploading your photos.

Might be worth your while taking a look through it before you get to the stage of needing to apply.

The IndiaMike forum also gives brilliant advice on just about everything about India and was a godsend during my planning.

For advice on the golden triangle, if you want to use Trip Advisor, you might be better off visiting the Rajasthan forums not the Goa section :) but watch out, the people on the Rajasthan forums aren't as friendly as the Goa bunch (it's also full of trolls).

And don't forget about the money issues they are having over there at the moment (God knows how long that will last).

It seems to be easing somewhat, since the withdrawal of the old 500rp & 1000rp notes in early November but most people in Goa are using ATMs to get cash as the usual places aren't changing sterling.

As the OP isn't going to India for maybe another 3 months, it may all be sorted by then.
But I'd definitely be keeping an eye on the currency situation and have a plan of action just in case. :)
