Computer Screen problem

I wonder if anyone knows if and how I can get rid of this image from my computer screen. It's a template for something and I can't get rid of it. I've recently got a new computer and thought that might get rid of it but it's still there.

Sorry I couldn't get the whole screen in but I think you'll be able to see what I mean.

I'm not very computer savvy so any help would be gratefully received.

Is this windows, if so which version? It looks like it might just be a background set up to show an image/photo. If so go go into control panel or settings and search for background and change it in there.

Sorry, but without knowing the OS it is hard to be any more specific.

It looks like a setup menu for the screen, nothing to do with the machine connected to it. Check the buttons on the monitor itself and you should find
D one called menu or setup. Thst should give you some idea of what the image is. It looks like an option to rotate the screen for landscape or portrait mode. Does the monitor swivel on its stand? Cheers fj

Are you running Windows 7? It might be part of "Personalisation" which you can use to change desktop backgounds. If you have Windows 10, please ignore this advice, but if you have 7: -

Find an area of the screen with the mouse that is not on that image.
    RIGHT click the area.
In the window that appears, click "Personalisation". Several background images 'Themes' and 'wallpapers' will appear.
Find what looks like the image and Right click it.
    Click "Delete Theme".

If you use Windows 10, I have no idea how it works in that, sorry.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
  • Hi,

it's a Windows 10 background picture, found in settings.

The two images and a dotted area looks as though you are into some kinda picture crop tool.

Thank you all, yes it's Windows 10 all sorted out now but not sure exactly what I did. Went to settings I think and it changed so quickly.
