DD and OH was due to go this weekend for climbing - they love the Lakes. However I think the snowy drive across the Pennines and the 50 mph winds when you got there put them off!:DFinally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Hi Cumbria - I've read both your diaries over the past few 'snow' days whilst off work. We really can't be far from each other - the gallery with the Victorian Street brought back memories - I haven't thought about that for years - I went to a couple of functions there whilst a youngster. Lyme Park and Quarry Bank are both a 20 minute-ish drive and we visit regularly - love taking my gdds to them when they come to stay. TattonPark is also lovely but the parking a bit of a rip off. Biddulph his a bit further but has lovely gardens.
We have the best hospitals around us - whatever condition afflicts us there is a specialist hospital close by - I was transferred from my local hospital to specialist spinal centre in October and was amazed how far folk travelled to be treated there - so in my bad luck of having to go to hospital it was lucky that the specialist centre was so close.
I was worried about being transferred to occupational health as I'd been off since October and the were amazing - totally on my side but to be fair work were ok too. Anyway they sorted a 4 week phased return and I start my full hours tomorrow. Lol it'll interfere with my new found social life. Talking of social life - did you know cinema at print works is only 3.99 every Monday and much cheaper the rest of the time than a lot of other cinemas....
You have done so well with the debt busting and I'm excited about your trip to Oz - just a thought have you insured your flight - watching Martins money show the other week made me think about insurancE....January spends - £587.580 -
Hi Cumbria I've managed to catch up with your diary. Sorry I've been awol for a few weeks.
I'm glad you're finally better and back at work, you've been having such a dreadful time. I've been feeling sorry for myself but you've been ill for much longer than me.
It's great that you're going away at Easter, it's nice to have something to look forward to.
Thank you for all your lovely comments and support on my diary recently re DS2.

Well our snow has all but disappeared except for the highest and most protected areas, but there are still some areas that the Fell Rescue and other services are trying to support. There were reports of people being dug out of homes in the Alston and Tindale areas only a couple of days ago when our snow had completely gone. So it's beautiful up here but not without it's hazards.
The winds have definitely dropped in the last three days so that's helped massively. I went into town yesterday and they were doing a massive concerted effort for the food bank so I made a bigger than usual contribution as we've come through this whole thing more or less unscathed despite some evidence of panic buying in the supermarkets (madness).
Glad you're starting to feel better. Some good fell air and walks round the lakes will make all the difference also sticky toffee pudding, scones....LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300
