Dd265 I can't really justify doing the colours thing either but after Grunnie said about the colour me beautiful book I checked the local library, couldn't get it locally and so I bought one for £2.60 delivered from Awesome Books. There are also a few free online sites that give a general idea. I can't justify new clothes either but I have invested a few pounds in cheap scarves of the indicated shades so I can wear my beloved black with a bit of colour.
Maman, I've only tried the foaming types because I have a huge collection. I'm a magpie for skin care stuff, if only I had the discipline to use them regularly.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Just back from the hairdressers & really pleased with my cut - it is a bit shorter than usual and quite a 'choppy' style - definitely suits my face shape better :j Even better OH said it makes me look younger
Have taken the plunge and ordered the Clinique Sonic brush together with some cleanser & moisturiser that came as a set from John Lewis - I had a £50 gift card for Christmas so only ended up paying £2.90
Enjoy your trip to Prague/Budapest Maman - hopefully your cold will have finally disappeared by then.0 -
Just catching up on everyone's post last thing before I go to bed - been cleaning the kitchen this evening, not exciting but desperately needed - however we have builders and painters at home at the moment so it will probably be filthy again soon
OH is working on a building site this week and faces a 1.5 hour journey each way, meaning a 5am start and no help for me in the evenings. He specifically asked to be somewhere within 10 miles of home but currently has a 130 mile round trip every day, he's going to see out this week and then say he's not returning..... the petrol costs alone are making it not worthwhile!
Shandy, good luck with the job hunting and I hope you feel like a load has been lifted off your shoulders :j
Well done indie on your weight loss and lifestyle changes :T it is difficult to keep up with healthy choices when you don't have as much control over what's on offer, I've been snacking on cereal bars to escape the coffee shop temptations when it would be easy to escape the builders that way! And I agree that a champagne festival with no free champagne, not even one glass, sounds a bit rubbish. Are you going to see Shed Seven on their latest tour?? My indie music-loving friend has bought a ticket to that one off gig in August that I can't make - sniff!
Thank you as usual for your inspirational posts LL, makeover March sounds like a great idea! I've set myself the target of losing 7lb by the end of April; not where I wanted to be weight-wise but I just don't have the opportunity to exercise more and eat as healthily as I'd like at the moment.
Maman, I don't have one of the facial brushes but if you're looking for a foaming cleanser, could you try a Boots one? They often have money off vouchers for No 7 products or there's a 3 for 2 offer on, if you need anything else:

I think you're right about the Corn Silk saving as I can't find it anywhere apart from Amazon now! My local Boots said they stocked it until quite recently as well, how annoying. And chanie, I've had my share of disastrous haircuts, I hope you are happier with yours now!
Better make my way to bed before DS1 wakes up - he's sleeping very badly recently - I don't know why as (obviously) he has the same routine as DS2, who sleeps much better. DS1 just can't seem to wind down and get to sleep as quickly, then if he wakes up he also finds it hard to get back to sleep..... I'm thinking of trying some baby rescue remedy to see if it helps him calm down. It really makes me grumpy and resentful when he won't go to sleep in the evenings as I always have so much to do once they've finally gone to bed..... he's such a lovely little boy but I'm sure he spends most of the time exhausted as he won't sleep properly/ for long enough.
Hope everyone is having a good week xxFinally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
Hello everyone,
I am still reading along with everyone's fabbing and enjoying all the tips. The healthy eating is going relatively well, have lost 4lbs so far and am happy with a slower loss rate as it's a case of breaking the habit of comfort eating more than anything. Think it helps that I am enjoying my cooking again and experimenting more with new recipes, with trying to avoid carbs it means more room for veg and we are averaging 6-7 portions a day. My aim is to have dropped a full 2 stones by the end of this year and be in size 10-12.
My new skin regime certainly seems to be helping as well, I no longer look so grey and tired which is a bonus for sure and I wear make-up every day now, even if it's just mascara and a little BB cream0 -
Good morning lovely ladies.
Sorry I have been AWOL but I've actually not felt too well. IBS And fibromyalgia, neck and right shoulder, so will have to keep it brief. Just wanted to let you know I'm ok.
I need to up the Physio and do some yoga and try and avoid the iPad for a few days.
I am still reading and keeping any eye on you all. :rotfl:
MAman hope the cold gets better soon. You've had quite a few just lately. Have you tried echinacea.
I read that drinking thyme tea helps with fibromyalgia so I bought a pot of thyme yesterday. It's worth a try.
Right off to start the day, breakfast, a cup of thyme tea, a hot bath an d then try some yoga. Oh and W A L K.
I got the itinerary for the Baltic cruise. St Petersburg will involve a lot of walking and hundreds of steps......I'd better get in training.:rotfl:
Be back soon.0 -
Hope you're pleased with the sonic brush sukey. You got that pack at a very good price. I can't really say it's made an amazing difference yet but I'm sure taking the time to pamper helps. Good news about your hair. Will it be easy to maintain?
Thanks for the Boots ideas too ruby. Today I'm having a rest from any exfoliation as around my nose is feeling a bit sore. I's not the brush it's from sneezing!:D
I did my eyebrows with the Rimmel kit for going out yesterday (previously just practised at home). I'm really pleased with the groomed look. So that's a keeper.
Glad to hear the healthy eating and weightloss are going well for you both Lainey and indie. Although we know it's good for health to eat well, it's motivating when the results show on the scales too. You're right about taking it slowly Lainey. IMO it needs a long term change in how we eat (and drink:o) to maintain a healthy weight not a crash course and then back to the junk. I'm all for having a treat but I think to many people eat junk food on a daily basis so it's become the norm.
It must be hard trying to look after yourself with the little ones to manage and so little help ruby. I do sympathise but do try and have a little time for you.:A
Good to see you posting LL, I had noticed you were AWOL. Good to have your cruise to look forward too. Your ailments sound stress related to me. There seems to be a strain of colds around this year that go on and on. Mine seemed to go and come back but it might have just been lying low for a few weeks.
Started dull here but brightening a bit. Not decided what to do today other than a few chores. Have a good day all whatever you're doing.:)0 -
MAman. You are right, definitely stress overload. But it's now finally under control at last. I have stopped fretting about my sister, in fact I have not seen her since dad's funeral.
Last week I was really low. It should have been my husband's 60th birthday and I felt very melancholy and spent most of the day in tears. She texted me. Texted I ask you!!!!
She lives 10 minutes away fgs. She couldnt even spare me the time for a quick cup of coffee, or even pickup the phone for a proper chat or a few words of consolation.
Thats done it for me.. .......as far as I am concerned we are now divorced. :rotfl: she's out of my life.
Obviously there will be the odd occasion when I shall be forced to see her. I will be polite of course but that's it - I'm done. It's sad that it has had to come to this but it's time I put my foot down with her and considered my own needs.
As for for my share of our inheritence. It's in the hands of the solicitor. Ultimately it's only money......I'm past caring.
The reality is whatever gets decided, even if she gets the lions share which she will, she will fritter her portion away in no time.
I've let that one go........
I'm Sleeping better and managing to relax more and whenever I feel overwhelmed with tiredness then I just go to bed for an hour or so, like I did yesterday afternoon.
Hopefully it will soon be warm enough to have my afternoon naps in the garden. :rotfl:
Nice and sunny here so shall be going for a walk in a minute.
I'll be ok. Getting better day by day.0 -

I think so - it will be much quicker to dry in the mornings too so I can get up at 6.15 instead of 6am :T
Sorry to hear you have been feeling unwell LL but nice to 'see' you back.
Keeping up quite well with the fabbing - putting body lotion on every night after bathing/showering and paying much more attention to my skincare routine - I am looking forward to trying out my new brush when it arrives.0 -
Sukey - if it's the set I think then it has the green scrubbier head on? If so, Need to be really gentle till you are used to it. I bought that head when mine needed replacing and it's very good in a thorough scrub style.
I've had three emails from different beauty companies today doing spend X for our free super value goodie bag, alll in the space of half an hour. Don't they know I am trying to be good?'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Yes, it is that one hex - I ordered that because I use the 'ant-blemish' products from Clinique (when I can get them on offer). Thanks for the advice - I will see how I go with it and if I find it too harsh then I will replace it when the time comes with one of the other heads.
Some of those emails are so tempting aren't they but, like you, I do try and resist - not always successfully0
