Travel insurance for indepedent travel

My wife and I are planning a trip (likely for 15 days) to south east Asia (Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore) in July 2008. We intend to book flights and accommodation independently.
I understand that there are general exclusions with most travel insurance policies that wont cover loss of flights due to insolvency (which is a concern as we intend to use budget airlines for some parts of the trip), repatriation or the loss of onward flights/accommodation resulting from a flight cancellation or severe delay.
Are there any insurers/policies that are specifically tailored to DIY holidays and do cover these aspects, at least at some level? Any recommendations?
