Amex Platinum Charge Card upgrade annual fee

Evening all,
I've took a Gold Charge Card for the sign up bonus earlier in the year then upgraded it to Platinum in November intending to use the upgrade bonus and then cancel it quite quickly so I'd only pay a small amount in fees.
I'm ready to close the account now, but I've not yet been charged an annual fee for the card at all, so I'm debating whether to hold on to the card for the insurances and offers.
Does anyone know when the £450 fee will be applied, will it be the anniversary date of the original Gold card being opened?

From memory, I *think* it was the anniversary of the issue of the platinum card - when I changed from gold they refunded part of the fee for that one and gave me the new one... but that was many years ago.
Amex CS is no hassle so why not just phone them and ask?:hello:0 -
I asked earlier in the month and was told it would appear on my first statement - it hasn't, and I'm slightly reluctant to point out a possible error in my favour...0
