I often use shower gel as a handwash. I don't like really runny shower gels in the shower so I will often re-purpose those. It works absolutely fine.

    Thanks.

I don't suppose you can use it as washing up liquid as well can you? :rotfl:

Cloughies - shower gel, handwash and bubble bath are essentially the same product with varying price tags.

I think i'll just buy Tesco Value Bubble Bath next time then. Thanks :T

I finally have some UUs to report :)

On Sunday I fnished off a 250ml bottle of conditioner - a L'Oreal Kids with detangler that I've had for longer than I want to think about. It's OK, but there are cheaper ones I like as much and another I much prefer. Went through my supplies for a replacement and was surprised to discover that (apart from 2 bottles of a leave-in one that I'm not mad keen on and have left for later, and a part bottle of an A1di one I'm holding off using until I can bring the matching shampoo into use at the same time) all I have left is the TRESemee that was my preference before I started using everything up. But I do have a full 1.3 litre bottle of it, and another 1.3 litre that's very nearly full  I've decanted some from the nearly full into a 100ml travel bottle so it'll fit into the storage rack in the shower.

And yesterday I finished off a 100ml bottle of hand and body lotion that I've been looking at (and using once in a blue moon) for well over a year. It's an O2 Spa one, and I avoided using it as it always turned my hands blue when I applied it! Needless to say I never reached for it as a hand lotion ;) Loads more body lotions in stock (don't know why as it's not something I've ever really used), but hopefully none of them will have a similar problem and I'll get through them a bit quicker. Just need to decide which one to use first, which probably boils down to are any open / which of those has least in.

21 Garnier sensitive make up remover already bought a replacement. I still end up with smudges under my eyes but this doesn't make my skin feel oily.

  • Catherine/Kate: Thanks for the heads up of the panning videos on youtube. I really need to get moving on it and get some inspiration for the next few colours. It is out of pure stubbornness that I want to get the palette used up. I am finding recently that the eyeshadow in the crease seems to be moving so I will have to use up the primer.

Houseplant: I agree about shopping when your down, I have the t-shirt (in every colour). I tend to go bargain shopping and like to find vintage pieces- in cs so it does not cost as much, even if I make an impulse purchase. I really cut out a lot of shopping related to low mood, bad mood and impulse by chopping up debit cards with a chip for a few months last year and going on a cash only diet. I had only 20-50 pounds only with me if I went to the shopping centre. I had to actively decide if I buy this lipstick I can not buy that dress. I had to really plan what was needed not I felt like. I made better choices as I would have to look at loads before I decided what I really wanted. It broke a lot of habits and forced me to really shop from the stash.

Luna is ok, It has a really blue colour that makes you have to wash your face asap in the morning. I have not used it religiously but it seems to give more radiance. Is it worth the hype- not really, I think I will get a tube of rx strength retin A. (Before anyone mentions misusing NHS resources my gp charges for appointments and I pay for appointments and medication and claim something back from my private insurance.)

Gemzie- all the in’s will be used up and enjoyed. It saves you the hassle of when a favourite is out of stock. It is better to have something you know you will use than something that you will never use.

Cloughies- some of the cheaper liquid soaps have more ‘foamer’ than dearer ones. I would see how it goes. Some of the cheap liquids can be very bubbly! I watched a really interesting youtube video on the cosmetics formulations by a private label company. Some products like shampoo have more foam (surfactants) to just give bubbles but no better results and professional shampoos have low levels of foam to make it easier to wash and rinse hair and reduce the time spent washing hair in salons.
  • Used up 2 of the 23 items listed. Not sure I'll get through everything by month's end, but leaving that as my goal anyway. We'll see how close I get.

Already considering items for next month's list ...

Re. Lush, yep i queued all day on UK site too, in end i gave up and went out. Still didnt get on, when it let me on at 10pm it reverted back to full prices! It was a nightmare wasnt it!! I found out about the ability to order from france/germany through facebook so gave it a go as was gutted at the UK sale being a fail. Managed fo get all the gift sets i was after. Slightly higher postage but worth it, and france was super fast delivery!! Definitely reccomend. Ill be doing france/germany again next year and avoiding UK sale altogether.

And savingfortomorrow yep ill most definitely be making use of the ins! Got a decent bath that works now im in new house, so looking forward to enjoying the bombs after a long day at work. Speaking of work, still waiting for start date but hopefully soon. Had my documentation checked the other day, think its dbs checks they are waiting for.

Re. Luxurious shower gels my favourite ones are (you guessed it!) from lush. I find beautiful and rose jam both leave a gorgeous scent on the skin and just smell amazing in general. And if you can get hold of one, the kitchen shower gel, 29 high street, smells gorgeous - just like the smell of a lush shop! Or if you like a more subtle smell, olive branch leaves a lovely light fresh scent.

Non-lush gels i think the sanctuary ones are gorgeous. The lily and damask rose i think it is smells divine!
