Foil in the Lighter / Power Outlet

Somehow I've discovered some foil in the lighter outlet in the car.
I tried to move it with a plastic pen but it just sparked.
I can't really be bothered to disconnect the battery so was thinking I could take the fuse out and thus it would be dead enough to use some plastic tweezers and grab it out?
Safe enough?
Thanks

You have probably already blown the fuse. Remove the foil then add another fuse0

Your cig socket's permanently live, not ignition-switched?
Yes, removing the fuse will remove the +12v feed to the socket. But, tbh, you've probably blown the fuse anyway.0 -
However don't be surprised if once you remove the foil and replaced the fuse it doesn't appear to work. I suspect the foil has been placed under one of the strips to make a contact. Old bodgers trick.0

No, the fuse is still fine as I plugged something in to charge and it charged fine.
Will remove it and give it a look.0 -
