Free Car Parking at Asda, Poole, Dorset.

During the xmas break, we went to see family and friends at Poole, Dorset.
There is now free car parking at Asda, Poole for 2.5 hours. According to my friends and family, it has been like this for several months. When I went there, there was no sign of any Smart Parking wardens so I strongly doubt that they are enforcing the 2.5 hour limit.
I reckon that the council are not happy with Asda as I cannot see why anyone needs to pay for parking in the town centre. Asda is only a 10 min walk to town centre and Poole train station is only a 10 min walk so I don't see why anyone needs to pay for train station parking.
I am not sure what Parking Eye are getting from this but who cares ?

Smart lost the contract in the spring or summer and most of these car parks are now PE, including my local one which I have posted about in other threads on here
see pranksters blogs about the signs being covered up and being removed too0 -

My mistake. Parking Eye are supposed to be monitoring the car park now. Can't remember whether signs are covered up or have been removed.

At least a couple of Asda's now have PE signs but no ANPR , my local 2 Asda's are like this ..........
Please do not start a 'free' parking thread when / as this may start a more pro active attitude from Asda .
My local 2 have seen no carmagedon

My local Associated Dairies have new parking lie signs. They actually look like someone has stuck new script over some old signs as they are not up to the professional large font monetary value we have come to know and respect.
I parked next door in the neighbourly Waitrose car park then walked across for a good butcher's at the ASDA signage and environs. The only cameras I could see were at the entrance, and pointing into the Waitrose car park.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
