    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's a bright morning here and hopefully it will stay dry tonight for all the revellers who come into our little town to celebrate New Year. I shall probably be tucked up in bed long before midnight as I get so tired by 10pm that I can't keep my eyes open.

The girls are still asleep, making the most of their last few days off school. They were making noises about going shopping today as they have Christmas money burning a hole in their pockets :D. I will give them another half hour then get them out of bed.

I am loving the sound of these knitted guinea pigs and border collies. I love making toys as well and have a big dragon to sew up, the worst part of knitting is the sewing up so I always put it off.

I am going to make some soup today for lunch as we have so many vegetables in the fridge to use up and then I am going to make a bolognese for tea.

Thinking of Lainey and her mum and hoping the funeral went well for Coxy's nephew xxx

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning everyone,

Late start for me today, DOH got up for the dogs so I had a lie-in until 9, can't remember last time that I did such a thing.
Spent all of yesterday with DM, she is very comfortable in her hospice room and have to say the staff couldn't be nicer, caring, gentle but respectful, we couldn't ask for better. She ate and enjoyed a little food, slept a lot and even had a visit from a PAT dog, lovely black lab called Phoebe :) have checked and we are ok to bring the girls in to see their "Grandma" so that's something we will arrange. It's such a peaceful and calm environment ( not sure if that will stay the same if Tilly visits!) and not at all like a hospital.
Anyways better get going, love and gentle blessings to those going through a tough time, all the best to my OS friends and see you all in the new year x

    Morning all,

A bit damp and dismal here, better than yesterday though when we had freezing fog all day and night, I did not go out of the house all day :D in fact I stayed in my jamas and pottered !

Today I have to make a tortilla for a party tonight at my sisters I might do a cheese and onion one as I still have loads of cheese to use up, will wait for it to get cold and then cut it up into bite size bits.

So tonight will be spent at sisters seeing in the new year, there is only about 10 - 12 people going but it will be nice. We will have a few drinks and nibbles Evie will come with us and there will be another dog there for her to play with.

Will see if I can gather up any washing today as tomorrow is the only day of the year I wont do any, not even sure why I think its something I read on here !

Coxy hope yesterday went as well as it could xx

    Have good days all xx

Ive been thinking a lot about Hilstep and wondering if she is ok, I was friends with her on facebook but cant remember her real name, can anyone remember it or has anyone been in touch ? I hope she is ok xx
  • Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Coxy and Lainey especially.

Laundry out on the line, will finish it off in the dryer. Cleaning done, had a spat with OH, he was welding the Dyson and sucked up the cable to my Ipad, it took me and a neighbour an hour to get it out, one end is a bit bent bit it is still working ok,

Nothing else to do except cook the supper, veg prepped, liver is defrosting. I usually cook it ahead, but I am going to cook it fresh later.

We will not be sitting up tonight, we got to bed and read until the witching hour, wish each other happy new year and go to sleep. A change from when we lived in Edinburgh and could not sleep until the fireworks had finished around 1.15 am. Even then we used to get noise from drunken revellers passing by.

Get them a tv and dvd player and a dvd of "Chicken Run" perhaps? :rotfl:

I agree! I always make myself do it right away, otherwise it'd never get done at all. ;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • REDRUBY I can't help but I too often think about HILSTEP. The last post I remember from her must have been October/November time when she said her cancer was getting worse. It's worrying xx
