Thank you Spendless, Cherryfudge and SA.
Cherryfudge - my parents went home yesterday lunchtime. It’s been good to have some time with them.
Feeling a bit better but very tired so ended up doing a bit then resting, doing a bit then resting all day yesterday. I did go to work for the evening shift but thankfully it wasn’t that busy. I think people are saving themselves for the weekend! My boss there gave me a £50 Christmas bonus so have decided to split it into a £30 debt repayment and £20 savings. It looks to be a grey, wet day today so will start to crack on with prep for Job 1.Have a good day everyone.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Yay to the Christmas bonus - and good choices on how to spend it.
Make the most of the 'downtime' before job 1 starts again (I know that won't mean total rest but physical rest when you can).
It's wet and grey here too. I'm reminding myself that spring is on the way.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Happy New Year. Hope you're feeling better. Good news re the bonus. Wonder what 2023 will fetch you. Think I predicted a year ago that the last 12 months wouldn't fetch a total conclusion but would be well into light at the end of the tunnel. I think I was right. This year I think you'll get a lot more conclusions, the mortgage going completely through, not sure if divorce is finalised yet and either fully get rid or come very close to getting rid of the debt. I suspect in 2 years time you are going to be in very different circumstances. .4

Thank you Lucielle, SH, Cherryfudge, Spendless and Jak.
Spendless - I do recall your prediction of making inroads in 2022. I do hope the debt can be all gone this year. Hopefully the mortgage and divorce will both be finalised and through too.
Feeling better now. New Year’s Eve turned out to be ridiculously busy as a colleague at Job 2 was unwell so I got called in for their shift. Had an hour off between day and night shifts but was a very full day.On New Years Day, 3 of the DDs persuaded me to join them in their now annual dip in the sea. Mercifully it was a mild, calm day so I gave it a go. It was so cold. I’m glad I did it but so so cold!!
Had chance to have time with SO too which was lovely. We both work crazy hours and juggle family commitments so it was a luxury to have time to go out for lunch just the 2 of us!
Yesterday was a productive day. Got a fair amount of prep done for Job 1, went to the tip and got rid of a boot load of rubbish and took DD2’s dog for a decent walk. The sky was a mackerel sky where each little part of cloud was a beautiful orangey pink colour as it was lit up by the setting sun. Beautiful!
Back to Job 1 this morning. One of those nights where you wake early because of not wanting to sleep through the alarm!
Hope everyone has a good day today!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
