That bureaucracy gone mad. I understand rules need to be in place for a reason, but surely a recycled duvet is much better use than it going in landfill.
I ordered some 16-in-1 wallet multi tools for my family boxes. They are £1 each and will be coming over from China. Hopefully, they will get here by Xmas :rotfl:. I have also raided the childrens toy boxes for small toys that can be recycled.
I have also bought two presents for MIL today - a wash bag with her initial, which I will fill up with a few small bits and pieces and book (memoirs of a 1950s childhood).0 -

.
Yes, I am robbing the local council of : the cost of transporting the duvet 25 miles to the incinerator where it would make ?? watts of electricity.
Years ago when we had a landfill site someone ran a recycling scheme there where you could buy things.- I still have 2 x plastic dog beds which cost me a huge £1 each!!
Hey, but that's progress
I'm turning into a 'bag' lady! Today saved several 5pence bags, several bags for life and one of the grocery bags from the bin by the bottle bank. All now washed and hanging on the line.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Hi everyone, well done on all your bargains for the shoe boxes. I didn't realise it was illegal to take things from the tip - not that I've been in years, the last time I took loads of magazines that were falling out of the paper recycling bins - they were in really good condition. Maybe it was allowed back then.
Re your boxes. Have any of you thought of buying a variety of necklaces/bracelets from the charity shop/car boot and breaking them up to make jewellery kits for women or girls to make? I know you can give ready made things but it's nice to also make your own if you add some cord/elastic or ribbon depending on the size of the holes. Or some other types of crafts that can be put into a kit?
Yesterday I went out to pay my insurance, bank and buy a gift for the present that needs sending this week - nothing went to plan - even the bank system went down but I did end up with a present for mum, not the person I needed to buy for as I was really indecisive about a few options, you know where you see something suitable but it's not quite the right thing and as it's the only one of that type you can't have a few other options. Nor did I get the insurance (I go to a broker) as I was pushed for time.0 -
Chanie I've pinched your idea for the multi wallet tools and ordered some!:TDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Still waiting for the cheapie shop to get those 2 calculators in.
However a mad May has meant that it's turned out to be a memorable month:
4 x afternoon teas with different friends
1x lunch with another friend
2 x dinner with 2 more friends (we hadn't met for 40 years!)
and.... hopefully one not to be repeated .. 2 nights in hospital in the stroke unit preceeded by an ambulance ride with 'blues & twos'
Just got home yesterday evening- diagnosed with a transient form of amnesia- a rather frightening experience. I am safe to drive & cruise fortunately
Hope to start packing the family boxes tomorrow- just leave space for the calculators. Today have been trying to get myself on track!!
Can't believe it is June!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Oh dear, katie. Sorry to read about your I!!!8217;ll health, I hope you have a speedy recovery.0

Katiehound, was the amnesia the diagnosis instead of a suspected stroke? Were you alone when it all happened? Must have been frightening, so glad you're better now and have had some enjoyable parts of May with your friends.0

Katie hope u are doing okay now.sounds like a scary experience.
Extended Chanies idea and ordered some more cheap bits off eb@y as i can't get to a pound shop. Pleased with what i had ordered, feel like I got a lot for my money.

Cat is in the vets, wasn't sure if she was kicked, attacked by another cat or hit by a car. The one night she decided she decides stay out all night (and I did everything I could to get her in), it was a rush to the vets. after emergency x rays and her fur being shaved they found a huge laceration from a claw. Hopefully she can come home today but was just pleased she was out of pain she looked terrible yesterdayDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
